All is well!

Things are going really great for our family! We are still pretty busy with school, work, and managing the apartments but things seem to be settling down a little bit, or we are just getting used to it. We had a great Spring Break! We started out in Salt Lake with Jacob's family, his parents just moved back to Utah from Hawaii! Then we headed down to Moab for a couple of days, Jasmine and the kids drove out so it was great to spend time with them. We had to cut our vacation short so we could get back to the apartments, it was sad to leave Moab but we made the best of it. We got a lot done around the house and I have turned into quite the little craft maker. :) I am finally trying to put to good use all those things I pinned on Pinterest (pictures to come later....if I finish my crafts ha ha....and if I think they are cute enough to share on the blog...). Anyways, things are going good and because I hate posts without pictures...and I think our little girl is just too cute not to share, here are pictures of her to enjoy! :)

Evie!

Just some cute pictures of Evie because I like to show her off!

Evie loves to watch and listen to Jacob sing and play his guitar! She will just sit and intently listen and she gets excited and will start kicking her legs.

Here is Evie with the flowers Jacob bought me for my birthday!

We like to go on walks so we went to visit Dad at the school! I love her little snow out fit her Aunt Alysha and Renee bought for her. Her arms don't quite fill it out so it kinds of looks like I am just carrying around a doll :)

She loves her Daddy!

So we have found that Evie loves her room! She is always so happy when we go in there! Thanks to my mom and all her hard work sewing everything and helping me pick out the fabric! It is so worth it to see how much she loves all the bright colors.

So about two weeks ago I was letting Evie have some belly time and unexpectedly she rolled over! I thought it was a fluke but later that day she did it again but then when Jacob came home she wouldn't do it any more so I thought it was a fluke twice. Today she proved she could do it again. I put her down and she was there for about two seconds and then she rolled over. I kept putting her on her belly and she rolled over 5 or 6 times so we finally got it on video!

Well to make a long post short....we love our little girl!

Jacob's Triathlon

So Friday night we are hanging out with some friends and someone for some reasons mentions there is a mini triathlon at the school the next day and the entry fee is only $5 so what does Jacob do? He enters of course....no prior training....the sole goal of just finishing....and what happens?....

He takes first in the swim for his heat.....
Then he gets to the bike and....it was close but he again comes in first.

Next was the run, and the only one who beat him was this guy who...well lets say he looked like he had been training for something like this for quite some time. Evie and I got to go and cheer him on and we were so proud of him. He completed a 300 yard swim, a 5 mile bike ride and a 3k run in 34 minutes and 17 seconds. Remember this was with no training...pretty awesome if I say so myself! There is another one in February that is a little longer so I think he is going to try train for it and compete again!

Still standing at the finish line!

Blessing Evie

We blessed Evie on January 1st in Sandy. It was a really neat experience and made me appreciate having the gospel in our lives even more than I could imagine! It was amazing to hear the beautiful blessings Heavenly Father has in store for our little Evie. We can already see a little of her personality but things said in the blessing let us see it even more and realize the incredible potential she has. I'm so grateful Jacob is a worthy priesthood holder and was able to give her a name and a blessing. I am also so grateful for all the great men who stood in the circle, it is so reassuring to know Evie has so many wonderful examples of what good men are so she can make a wise decision when she has to choose a husband to take care of her. I am especially grateful for all her grandpas and papas who would already do anything for Evie! It was pretty amazing to look around and see all of the people surrounding her and know that will always have people to look to and rely on. Thank you so much for everyone who came and for everyone who she gets to look up to!

Christmas Break

We had a great a great Christmas break! It was nice to not have to worry about school for a little while and just spend time together as a family. Jacob's parents and brother came home from Hawaii and his grandparents flew in from Oklahoma. It was the first time any of them got to meet Evie so it was really fun. We rented a house up in Idaho next to some hot springs and spent a few days before Christmas out there. We had a good time, relaxing, playing games, and spending time with family! We also took some family pictures and Alysha and Renee bought all the guys black sweaters to wear and all of the girls got pink scarves. Here are a few of the pictures we took!

It was freezing out side so we had Evie wrapped up tight and took the blanket off for just enough time to snap a picture then we ran back inside :) We took some more inside so we could have more time.

We did Christmas at Jacob's parents house and had a great time, then we went down to Moab to spend some time with my family. Jasmine and the kids were down so it was great to see them! We have a great video of Jade doing a cute dance and Daxton pulling out his tooth by tying a string to it and a door and then slamming the door shut. I would share the videos but I'll have to ask Jasmine first or maybe she will put them up on her blog! Anyways it was a great time to see so much family and have a break from school!

First Week at Church

We must be the luckiest parents in the world! Evie is a perfect little angel! She loves to sleep and make funny faces. She hardly ever cries (only if she is hungry...which is totally understandable) and will sleep at night for 4 to 5 hours sometimes. She is a little sweetheart and we love her so much! I can't believe she is almost a month old, time goes so fast, but we are trying to enjoy every minute of it!

Evie Christine Mason!

She finally came! She was only a day late but it felt like a lot longer. Jacob and I have been so ready for her to come and were getting a little impatient. Here are a couple of my last pregnancy photos.

36 Weeks

38 Weeks

40 Weeks and 1 day! Right before we left for the hospital.

I started feeling contractions all Saturday night and then by about 5:00am they started becoming more consistent but still about 10 minutes apart. We just hung out at the house all morning and enjoyed a movie and some breakfast and then headed for the hospital at about 1 pm because the contractions were coming about 5 minutes apart.

We had the whole hospital to ourselves so we walked laps around it for a while and they let me eat ice chips...yeah, great huh? The doctor broke by water at about 3:00 and then it was just a waiting game. I guess Evie just wanted to wait to the very last minute! We started pushing at about 8:30 and Jacob was a great coach a huge help to keep me going. she was finally born at 11:05 on November 13th, 2011!

It was an amazing experience and I feel like it is impossible to put into words all the emotions I felt when I got to hold her! We are both so grateful we get to have her be apart of our eternal family.

Everything went really really well, our doctor was fantastic and the hospital staff was incredible. Since we had her so late on Sunday night they wanted to have us stay until Tuesday. Jacob was a trouper just hanging out for two days at the hospital and waiting on me and Evie hand and foot. He is the most amazing man, husband, and father.

Our first family photo right before we left the hospital!

She is the sweetest little girl we could ask for! We are so blessed to finally have her here and able to hold! Life a really good!
