Craftiness :)

Being a mom/graduating/PINTEREST has been a very good thing for my craftiness! I say the other two because they created the time but really pinterest is really where all the inspiration comes from! I am not a crafty person....I don't really see something lame and say, "Hey I bet I could make that cute!" Although I can't do it, I am certainly grateful for those people who can, the people who created pinterest, and most of all the people who post all their crafty ideas. My relationship with pinterest started out rough....I spent too much time but never tried anything. Finally I decided I needed to get brave and just try some of the stuff....I'm not sure that was a good thing or not:) Because now I am going craft crazy and loving it! I still don't have the craft gene but there is still hope for me (and for anyone who feels the way I do). All you have to be able to do is read, follow instructions and get going! Evie's room was a great place for me to start and not to brag...but I don't think the pictures do it justice. I took a pretty ugly room in our house and now it is a cute little girl room. Now, it's not magazine worthy or anything but it's great for us!
After
Before
I found the interesting frames at DI for $2 then from pinterest I found the idea to take toilet paper rolls to make a design. I decided on the design painted them and glued them all together but for a full tutorial go check out my pinterest account:) The temple picture was my first attempt at trying something on pinterest so if I had it to do again I would change a few things but I thought it was good enough and really wanted a temple picture hanging in Evie's room. I actually mostly came up with the Evie letters and bow hanger on my own and bought the stuff from Hobby Lobby. My wonder full mother made the changing pad, curtain, bumper pads, and butterfly blanket. She is the best!

Here is just another side view, the butterfly came from wood connections so all I had to do was paint it.
All in all I have had a great time doing all these projects and will try to post more as I go!

Summer Time

So I know I say this every time but...I am a lame blogger! So to make up for it I'll just post a lot of pictures and videos all at once! Most of them are of Evie so you can see her development and I'll just tell you whats been going on with Jacob and I. We had a great summer, and as always it went way too fast! Jacob had an internship in Salt Lake at L3 Communications, it was a really good opportunity and he had a great time. It was a little trying because we wanted to keep our job as apartment managers so he just commuted back a forth. The summer was also pretty busy for me because I was taking my last semester of school. I was able to do it all online so I could juggle the apartments, school, and being a mom, which is the most important. I'm glad to say that after a long road I finally finished and now have my bachelors degree. Jacob will finish with school this December and then we will decide what to do from there. We are hoping to get a job that will help pay for his masters degree, but we will see what happens.

She thought she was being so sneaky, eventually I had to move her collection of bows :)

Evie loves her swing, it was a great plus that we got it for two bucks at a year sale :)

The new drinking game :)

We got to spend a weekend in Moab and had a great time! Evie learned that she really liked Pepsi :)

Spring Time

Spring Time!
I love spring time, it's such a great change from winter, every thing just seems happier and brighter! We are still really busy with school and work but things are going well for us. Jacob just joined an Ultimate Frisbee team so it has been fun for Evie and I to go and sit in the sun and watch him play. Other than that no a whole lot different is going on with us. Evie is just growing and growing...well at least developing...she is still pretty small :) She is starting to sit up on her own which is really fun and we are trying to see what kind of food she likes, which you'll get to see the results of later on.

Lately she has started to want to eat her toes...she has been interested into her toes for quite some time but only recently has she wanted to eat them:)

I love her face, it almost says "Oh, you caught me."

This is one of my new favorite pictures, Jacob was playing his guitar behind her and she craned her neck for a long time just trying to see him. She loves her daddy!!

There is a really fun park we found in Logan by the temple and she got to swing for the first time. The video of that is at the bottom.

Cute in her daddy's hat

Easter Time!

For Easter we went to Salt Lake to spend time with Jacob's Family.

Evie got a new dress for Easter and I made her a new bow, I love this dress it reminds me of some of the dresses my mom used to make for us growing up for Easter. So Evie got a new dress and headband...while Jacob....well he got a little more of an extreme Easter gift.....

A new motorcycle....Happy Easter to Jacob, yes, he is a little spoiled :)

And here are the videos...she is just so cute!

All is well!

Things are going really great for our family! We are still pretty busy with school, work, and managing the apartments but things seem to be settling down a little bit, or we are just getting used to it. We had a great Spring Break! We started out in Salt Lake with Jacob's family, his parents just moved back to Utah from Hawaii! Then we headed down to Moab for a couple of days, Jasmine and the kids drove out so it was great to spend time with them. We had to cut our vacation short so we could get back to the apartments, it was sad to leave Moab but we made the best of it. We got a lot done around the house and I have turned into quite the little craft maker. :) I am finally trying to put to good use all those things I pinned on Pinterest (pictures to come later....if I finish my crafts ha ha....and if I think they are cute enough to share on the blog...). Anyways, things are going good and because I hate posts without pictures...and I think our little girl is just too cute not to share, here are pictures of her to enjoy! :)

Evie!

Just some cute pictures of Evie because I like to show her off!

Evie loves to watch and listen to Jacob sing and play his guitar! She will just sit and intently listen and she gets excited and will start kicking her legs.

Here is Evie with the flowers Jacob bought me for my birthday!

We like to go on walks so we went to visit Dad at the school! I love her little snow out fit her Aunt Alysha and Renee bought for her. Her arms don't quite fill it out so it kinds of looks like I am just carrying around a doll :)

She loves her Daddy!

So we have found that Evie loves her room! She is always so happy when we go in there! Thanks to my mom and all her hard work sewing everything and helping me pick out the fabric! It is so worth it to see how much she loves all the bright colors.

So about two weeks ago I was letting Evie have some belly time and unexpectedly she rolled over! I thought it was a fluke but later that day she did it again but then when Jacob came home she wouldn't do it any more so I thought it was a fluke twice. Today she proved she could do it again. I put her down and she was there for about two seconds and then she rolled over. I kept putting her on her belly and she rolled over 5 or 6 times so we finally got it on video!

Well to make a long post short....we love our little girl!

Jacob's Triathlon

So Friday night we are hanging out with some friends and someone for some reasons mentions there is a mini triathlon at the school the next day and the entry fee is only $5 so what does Jacob do? He enters of course....no prior training....the sole goal of just finishing....and what happens?....

He takes first in the swim for his heat.....
Then he gets to the bike and....it was close but he again comes in first.

Next was the run, and the only one who beat him was this guy who...well lets say he looked like he had been training for something like this for quite some time. Evie and I got to go and cheer him on and we were so proud of him. He completed a 300 yard swim, a 5 mile bike ride and a 3k run in 34 minutes and 17 seconds. Remember this was with no training...pretty awesome if I say so myself! There is another one in February that is a little longer so I think he is going to try train for it and compete again!

Still standing at the finish line!

Blessing Evie

We blessed Evie on January 1st in Sandy. It was a really neat experience and made me appreciate having the gospel in our lives even more than I could imagine! It was amazing to hear the beautiful blessings Heavenly Father has in store for our little Evie. We can already see a little of her personality but things said in the blessing let us see it even more and realize the incredible potential she has. I'm so grateful Jacob is a worthy priesthood holder and was able to give her a name and a blessing. I am also so grateful for all the great men who stood in the circle, it is so reassuring to know Evie has so many wonderful examples of what good men are so she can make a wise decision when she has to choose a husband to take care of her. I am especially grateful for all her grandpas and papas who would already do anything for Evie! It was pretty amazing to look around and see all of the people surrounding her and know that will always have people to look to and rely on. Thank you so much for everyone who came and for everyone who she gets to look up to!
